A work in progress....

This is a tangential creative process. Nothing sustained. Welcome to Adam’s brain!!! If you were to look at my brain, and the path of an idea, it would be a million little brains connected by thin filaments that carry an impulse from one brain to the next. No bread crumb trail left to find its way back. There have been moments where I’ve been struck by such a brilliant idea of creative genius (LMAO) that I’ve shocked myself into a mild dementia, and have lost the idea to the ether forever.

But I digress.

I like the characters I’ve created, and that process is fun. But I’d like to build something that can be episodic. I’m trying to build something that IS sustained. I’d like to build something entertaining, that makes people emote and forget about the world for a couple minutes—-something that you can listen to and think— ‘I can’t wait for the next installment.’

This is a space for pondering such an endeavor.

And this is a space for you to take part. I crave feedback. Compliment sandwiches are fine, but what I really would like is critical feedback to improve so that people, more than just friends and family, want to take part.

Here’s my thinking:
I will write and record episodes of a story. Episodes that would be the equivalent of chapters of a book. I will attempt to insert sound design, like a radio drama of old, to aid in the imagery. I will create and voice all characters. I will ask for audience participation similar to a choose your own adventure. When I release selected episodes, I will conduct a poll with listeners in order keep the story telling fresh, and to engage with audience. Perhaps it will be a simple choice that the character must make, or maybe I’ll ask for something as foundational as specific writing cues.

This is still a work in progress, and I’ll remain fluid to the rules of the thing until something sticks. But look for the first installment in the coming months! And please don’t hesitate to offer your suggestions. I value other people’s insight, and find that collaboration is a powerful approach in the creative process. And while I jokingly called myself a creative genius earlier, it’s more that I just have the desire to create and will continue to find ways to do so. And I want a community that wants to create as well.
